A new way to experience
the exhibition.
Nuliaminik Neqilik (The Flesh of Wives) explores Inuit identity, repatriation, and agency over belongings, bodies, and territories. The exhibition by Iqaluit-based Greenlandic-Canadian Inuk artist Laakkuluk Williamson was curated by Inuk artist and curator Taqralik Partridge.
Art Gate scanned the installed works at Mimosa House and rebuilt the gallery as an immersive 3D space. The digital exhibition brings that London presentation to audiences on a laptop or phone, with optional VR, and remains accessible after the live opening.
Part of York University’s Curating Indigenous Circumpolar Cultural Sovereignty research program, with Anna Hudson. Supported by SSHRC and the Canada Foundation for Innovation.
